GLENN HUGHES To Guest On TONY IOMMI's Radio Show This Weekend
February 22, 2006Legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes will be the guest of BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi on his "Black Sunday" radio show on Planet Rock this week (Sunday, February 26) Hughes will be choosing his five favorite classic rock tunes between 8:30 and 9 p.m.
"Black Sunday" kicks off at 7:00 p.m. U.K. time and runs for two hours. Listen online worldwide at www.planetrock.com. U.K. listeners can also tune in via DAB Digital Radio and via Sky Channel 861, NTL channel 680 or Telewest Channel 924. Planet Rock had previously issued the following description of Iommi's program: "Each week, Tony will be joined by colleagues and friends from all walks of life who indulge in a common passion for rock music. He will also share his experiences from over 30 years at the top table of rock’s aristocracy, and reveal the stories behind BLACK SABBATH's most famous songs. Tony will also invite unsigned bands to send in their demos and will play his pick on air."
Hughes recently finished recording his new solo CD with the aid of RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith (who is also producing the CD) and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS guitarist John Frusciante. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "Oil and Water", "Frail", "Black Light", "Stepping On" and "The Valiant Denial". Also playing on the set will be guitarist J.J. Marsh, who has appeared on Hughes' last several solo releases.
